The most popular blogging platforms, including Blogger and Wordpress, use a control panel that includes a WYSIWYG (What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get) editor, but it’s slow, and hard to work with. A much better alternative is to use Desktop Blogging Client software. These are programs you install on your desktop/home/office computer and blog remotely. You prepare the post with your software, then submit it to the blog from your desktop to the remote server.

The Nerd has prepared a list of the top 20 Desktop Blog Client software here. The Nerd’s two free favorites are Post2Blog, which is great, but is no longer developed or supported, and Windows Live Writer, which makes use of some great plugins to extend its functionality. IE8 Beta 1 may occasionally crashes or not responding when browsing websites, and users have to close the browser with request to send the error report to Microsoft. The bugs or crashes happen more frequently especially if users using third-party add-ons such as Google Toolbar. This is generally expected as this is the first beta of IE 8.

Beside, user interface of IE8 is generally similar to IE7, reducing the enticing for users who face problems when using IE8 to stay using it. If you decided to rollback and revert back to original IE7 or IE6, it’s possible to uninstall IE8 to do so.

IE8 can be uninstall by using Add or Remove Programs module in Windows XP, but in Windows Vista, Windows Internet Explorer 8 is not considered to be a ‘program’. Instead, IE8 is categorizing as an ‘update’. Thus, users will not be able to find Windows Internet Explorer 8 in “Programs and Features” of Windows Vista.

To uninstall Internet Explorer 8, go to Control Panel, and click on Uninstall Programs link or Programs and Features icon. Then on Tasks pane on the left, click on View installed updates link. Locate and select Windows Internet Explorer 8 in the list of installed updates, and then click on Uninstall button. Click on Yes when asked that are you sure want to uninstall the update.

Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) Beta 1 has been released for public free download on IE8 Readiness Toolkit page. Internet Explorer 8 can be installed on Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) (but not pre-release or beta version) , Windows Vista, Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2). IE8 Beta 1 also does not work on checked (debug) version of Windows.

IE 8 features improvements in Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and layout, programming model, performance, reliability, usability and service integration. iPods are not just a good tool to store music, and play that music back, but iPods have a lot of storage space that you can use to backup important files from your computer hard drive. Windows XP Service Pack 3 RC2 (Release Candidate 2) was released by Microsoft on February 6th, 2008. Windows XP SP3 RC 2 has the build version of 3300, and has increased the availability of localized languages editions. Instead of just 5 editions of different languages for earlier service pack betas, XP SP3 RC2 is released in 7 different languages - English, Japanese, German, Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish and Simplified Chinese.

The milestone RC2 version 3300 build release of XP SP3 (service pack) has the size of around 2,197.79 MB. The leaked version is the self-extracting executable that contains the update package for Windows XP Service Pack 3 Release Candidate 2. Unlike Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista, users may apply this package to previous pre-release editions of Windows XP Service Pack 3 (e.g., the Release Candidate Refresh). After installation, Windows XP will have build version of 5.1.2600.3300 (xpsp.080125-2028).

Aerotel Medical System, an Israel based company specializing in telemedicine and telecare solutions has just unveiled a new series of personal safety devices targeting for senior citizen as well as for children. There are two models being released – GeoSkeeper with GPS (Global Positioning System) assisted enhanced security features and Skeeper with entry level safety functions.

In terms of functionality, both are quite similar except GeoSkeeper has advanced features utilizing GPS technology for personal location tracking. With GeoSkeeper function, users will be notified if they have crossed a specified boundary such as neighborhood area. Once activated, a SMS (Short Messaging System) will be triggered and sent to dedicated recipients for acknowledgement. For entry level Skeeper, it has quite complete security features based on normal quad-band GSM cellular network. Users will be able to have two-ways communication in any emergency situation . Also, assistance from remote center is available round the clock once the alarm system is being triggered.

The company will be showcasing both solutions at upcoming Mobile World Congress 2008 events in Barcelona.

The only concern with this device is how easily it can be removed.
